Peter James Insurance and The Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) used their trip to Stafford for the Classic Motorcycle Show to unveil more details of a long-waited club insurance scheme.
The result of a 10-month long project by key VMCC club officials to find members the best possible insurance package, VMCC Club Cover by Peter James Insurance, will go live to members on Monday 2 August.
The market-leading scheme has been designed by classic motorcyclists for classic motorcyclists, based on personal experience.
It includes UK and EU breakdown as well as helmet and leathers cover as standard but at market-leading prices, thanks to an extensive market benchmarking exercise carried out by Peter James Insurance across many months.
Results of this activity already suggest that VMCC Club Cover is the most price competitive in nearly 90 per cent of the extensive number of risks reviewed. It will also reward longer memberships with reduced premiums.
Former club chair and VMCC Club Cover project lead Bob Clark explained more.
He said, ‘From the outset I was thinking back to the early days of the VMCC club insurance schemes in the 1980s and early 1990s where the insurance savings offered were often more than the cost of joining and the very positive effect this had in terms of membership.
‘We are pretty sure that we have achieved this position again and expect VMCC Club Cover to play a key role in driving a rise in membership in coming years.’
